A Day of Impact: Henderson Visits Feeding Tampa Bay and Local Entrepreneurs
Last week, Alan Henderson spent the day immersed in the heart of Tampa’s community—starting with a visit to the headquarters of Feeding Tampa Bay. Touring their operation, Henderson witnessed the scale, strategy, and soul behind their mission to end hunger across the region. “Their impact, of course, goes beyond just food” Henderson shared. “They support dignity, stability, and lifting people up & I believe the city of Tampa should support them and other similar organizations in that effort” The visit reinforced his belief that local government must be an active partner in supporting nonprofits that are already making a difference on the ground.
The day continued with a hybrid youth event hosted by GQ Tampa and EmpowerU, where students heard directly from top Florida executives about leadership and resilience. Henderson was invited to share closing remarks and left energized by the students’ curiosity and vision. He later connected with small business owners at local open markets, including a heartfelt stop at Drip Addiction Coffee Co.—a firefighter-owned café brewing both caffeine and community impact. “Stories like theirs are so Tampa” Henderson said, “it's creative, it's innovative, and it's rooted in service to the community. That's the kind of entrepreneurship we should always champion.” From service to students to small business, the day served as a powerful reminder of what makes Tampa extraordinary—and the responsibility leadership carries to nurture it.
